Ingredients
  

For Donuts:

  • 4 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 1/4 tsp yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 2 eggs

Oil for frying

  • For Glaze:
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Instructions
 

  • Mix warm milk with yeast.
  • Wait 5 minutes until bubbly.
  • Mix flour, sugar, and salt.
  • Add milk mixture to flour.
  • Add butter and eggs.
  • Mix until smooth dough forms.
  • Let dough rise 1 hour.
  • Roll dough flat, 1/2-inch thick.
  • Cut into donut shapes.
  • Let rise 45 more minutes.
  • Heat oil to 375°F.
  • Fry donuts 2 minutes each side.
  • Make glaze by mixing all ingredients.
  • Dip warm donuts in glaze.

Notes

  1. Keep oil at 375°F for best results.
  2. Make sure milk isn't too hot for yeast.
  3. Let dough rise in warm place.
  4. Don't skip the second rising time.
  5. Serve donuts while still warm.
