- 2 pounds potatoes
- 3 tablespoons cooking oil
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
Wash potatoes well with cold water. Cut into small 1-inch pieces. Put pieces in cold water. Wait 30 minutes.
Drain water from potatoes completely. Dry each piece with paper towels. Make sure potatoes are very dry.
Mix salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Put spice mix in small bowl.
Heat oil in large pan. Add dry potato pieces to hot oil. Cook 5 minutes without stirring much.
This is the special turbate step. Stir potatoes gently with wooden spoon. Make small spaces between potato pieces. Cook 10 more minutes.
Add spice mix to potatoes. Mix gently to coat all pieces. Cook 3-5 more minutes until golden brown.
