Ingredients

  • 1 packet instant yeast
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup mozzarella cheese
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 egg beaten (for brushing)

Instructions
 

  • Mix flour, sugar, salt, and yeast in bowl.
  • Add warm water and olive oil to mixture.
  • Knead dough until smooth and elastic forms.
  • Cover dough, let it rise for one hour.
  • Heat skillet, cook beef until browned evenly.
  • Add onions, garlic powder, paprika, pepper, stir.
  • Remove from heat, mix in both cheeses.
  • Punch down dough, divide into equal pieces.
  • Roll dough flat using a rolling pin.
  • Place beef filling in center of each.
  • Fold dough edges, seal tightly with hands.
  • Place hot pockets on tray with parchment.
  • Brush tops with beaten egg for shine.
  • Bake in oven at 375°F for 20 minutes.
  • Remove, cool slightly, and serve warm.
